In this thesis, the main research content is to design and implement a multi-channel NIMH batteries cycle charge-discharge test system. In order to ensure the quality of the whole products, the system is mainly aimed at the sample testing which extracts from the battery manufacturer production. The system also can be used in battery research and development stage and provided the reliable battery charge and discharge data to the manufacturer when feeding, electrolyte configuration in battery production.This system consists of host machine, main board and daughter board in the client machine together. The daughter board in the client machine is responsible for the precision control and gathering of voltage and current value when charge and discharge circuit works. Otherwise it also stores the data of each sheet on FLASH, displays the real-time data on the LCD screen, and finally sends the data to PC by serial port after packaging. Data transmission is based on RS232 communication protocol standards. PC software system based on the MFC development, unpacks the data processing to get data from each circuit. Communication with the client is established through the multithreading. Besides PC can draw charge and discharge curve, store the real-time data and control system in the client machine.The characteristic of system is able to provide precision detection for a variety of nickel metal hydride batteries in industrial production. The detected information stored in the host machine and in client machine, ensures that the data can be saved in a timely when power lose. The detected current value is displayed real-timely in the edit box and the voltage value can be drawn by the curve, which is convenient to production personnel to check the information. After getting the testing data from supporting software system, the relative researchers can do the follow-up production analysis. In the process of testing, each of the battery is relatively independent, which means that one fault circuit does not affect the remaining normal circuits. The system can work normally even without a host machine. All the information is displayed on the LCD panel in the client machine. According to the experimental results, The system with long-term stable operation was proved to finish batteries test according to the national standard. The test results show that the charging and discharging curve of battery can be drew and the detection parameters can be stored by the system. The relative error of controlling current is less than 1%. The relative error of detecting NIMH battery voltage is less than 1%.
