As the rapid development of Chinese highway construction,modified asphalt has beenuniversally appHed in asphalt pavement engineering.Which the most common isStyrene—Butadiene—Styrene BlockCopolymer(SBS) modified asphalt.Budun Rock asphaltusually has better anti-rutting performance,ability to resist water damage and anti—agingperformance.Atthe sametime,itsmodifiedprocessis simpleandperformanceis stable.Ithasbeen widely applied in pavement engineering abroad and has been gradually increased applied inChina recently.The executed technical specifications for asphalt pavement construction is short of specifictechnical requirements about the Budun Rock asphalt,such as applicable conditions,modifiedasphalt technical standards,mixture performance requirements,material design,constructiomecimology,quality control and testing methods.Based on the current research and development ofBudun Rock asphalt(BRA)in roadengineering both in China and abroad,this paper examines the changes on the properties ofbasepetroleum asphaltwhen addingBudun rockasphalt.Italso studiesthe roadperformancewhenBudun rock asphalts are used as new kind ofmodifiers for petroleum asphalts.Budun rockasphalts prove to be able to improve dramatically many qualities ofthe basis asphalt when addedat different quantities.Improvements are observed in temperature sensitivity,high—temperaturedurability,resistance to aging,adhesion property,especially in high-temperature stability whichare evenmolepronouncedwhenthe quantityofBudun rock asphaltaddedisincreased.Date ofExperiment results show that Budun rock asphalt mixtures have better performances onlow—temperature stability,water—resistance,and especially high-temperature stability.Thisstability provides the new measure for vehicle仃ack resistance under high temperatureenvironment.Combinationwiththedesignand constructionofProjectphaseIIINanjiang roadinTianjinport.The Application Technology Study in Budun Rock Aaphalt mix design,construction,qualitycontrolandmanagement....
