The Study On Application Of Fiber Asphalt Concrete

Since the reform and opening up begun in our country, there has been great development in the national highway construction. The distance of highway has added so much and the highway grade has been promoted greatly. Accordingly, promotion must been ensured to the requirement for the constructive material. As a kind of asphalt pavement without joint, it is used widely because of so many advantages of its own. Heavy pavement troubles are caused for all kinds of reasons with economic development, traffic volume expanding, load increasing and canalizing traffic. So it is necessary to perfect asphalt concrete qualities by some technique measures such as adding fabric.As the modern highway transportation characterized with high speed, high traffic density, heavy load and canalized traffic, the technology of asphalt pavement have been changed greatly and many methods had been developed to improve the performance of asphalt pavement, such as the SuperpaveTM the technology of modified asphalt, the SMA ,etc..Among them, the fiber strengthened asphalt pavement is a successful alternative both domestically and overseas. It is expectative because of both its eminent performance and simple construction technology, and its economical preponderance.Based on the reinforced mechanism of fibers, the paper analyze the capacity of fiber asphalt and fiber strengthened asphalt mixture through the test of fiber asphalt, the Marshall test and pavement performance test of fiber strengthened asphalt mixture. According to the former analysis ,the paper put forward some advice of the design method of fiber strengthened asphalt mixture and its appliance.
