With the development of science and technology,the requirement of educational quality has been more and more high, but the traditional teaching can't meet the demand of increasing talent training, especially experiment teaching has some major problems : inadequate funding,carrying experiment teaching in remote and continuing education is difficulty,practice and innovation ability limited by resource. Nowadays,the virtual experimental platform has emerged with technology development of communication,multimedia and virtual reality. But at present, it has some problems still exist in virtual experiment teaching, the openness,extensibility and practicality are no enough, course contents are lack of innovation. For that reason, a virtual experiment platform is been designed with theories of mechanical innovative design and axiomatic design. The main content of this article are as follows:1. Constructing a software framework based on the theory of Axiomatic Design, which is advanced by Sub Nam Poy, and through decomposition and combination of typical mechanical product to demonstrate the application of the virtual platform.2. The functional requirements and design goals of virtual experiment platform have been analyzed, this section is to establish frame model of virtual experiment platform as well as to analyze each module's function of the platform.3. Researching for overall technical solutions of the virtual experiment platform. It includes two big modules: (1) how to develop the virtual experimental platform, (2) how to realize the network. Involving the key technologies in objects modeling, man-machine interaction, data communication between VC++ and EON, COM technology and communication structure,etc.Finally, the virtual experimental platform has been developed in this paper, which can provide a new method to teaching experiment and improve the teaching quality effectively.
