The truck-mounted concrete pump is a dedicated construction machinery to transport and cast concrete. For the advantages of high automatization, high speed of casting concrete, good property of environmental protection, high quality of casting concrete, low cost of labor, it has been widely used in many construction sites. As the key working parts of truck-mounted concrete pump, Boom structure is complex and the force on it is varied, therefore its performance will directly affect the quality and efficiency of the vehicle. In the course of practical work, the boom structure has the problem of excessive vibration of the end and damage of the pipe support. For such situation, this paper study SANY Company's 46 meter boom system of truck-mounted concrete pump. The study is put forward in three areas including theoretical analysis, experimental testing and finite element simulation. Then I obtain the main reason which cause these two problems, and propose the corresponding optimization scheme. In the course of theoretical derivation, the appropriate theory simplified model of the boom system is proposed. I make theoretical modal analysis of the boom with the analysis methods of theoretical mechanics and mechanics of materials. Then I get the natural frequency and vibration mode of the boom initially. In the course of experimental test, I identify the key modes of the boom by testing the truck-mounted concrete in construction sites for many times. Then I analyze the frequencies and vibration modes, compare the results with the theoretical derivation and find the key factors of excessive vibration of end of the boom. In the course of finite element simulation, I establish the solid modeling of the truck-mounted concrete and make the Strength analysis and modal analysis of the boom with finite element software LS-DYNA. Stress distribution of the boom is showed in strength analysis. Then I identify the location of the boom prone to damage. The result of modal analysis is compared with theoretical analysis and experimental results, so the reason of excessive vibration of end of the boom is verified. At last I make the strength analysis of pipe and the pipe support, thus get the main reason of damage to the pipe support. For the analysis results above, the corresponding optimization schemes of boom structure and pipe support are proposed, which can significantly reduce vibration of the end of the boom and extend the life of pipe support.
