CEC Effectiveness Analysis Based On ABMS

The ABMS (Agent Based Modeling and Simulation) paradigm provides great advantage for military operational research, especial for NCW operational research. The CEC (Cooperative Engagement Capability) SoS(System of Systems)effectiveness evaluation process, SoS model design and experiment analysis in the dissertation are root in ABMS development and application process. They are great value for CEC SoS effectiveness evaluation application. The contents of the dissertation are as follows:(1) The CEC effectiveness evaluation process based ABMS is proposed.The characteristics and requirement of evaluation for CEC are analyzed. CEC effectiveness evaluation process is discussed. It consists of following components: CEC effectiveness evaluation problem analysis, CEC SoS model design, simulation model development, threat analysis, SoS architecture design, scenario analysis, experiment design, simulation model composition, batch simulation experiments and results analysis.(2) CEC SoS models are designed based on ABMS.According to the processes of ABMS model design, CEC SoS models are designed by"Discovering Agent","Agent Interaction and Environments"and"Agent Behavior Representation"process. In this section, the scenario is presented, the objects and agents are analyzed, the interaction and factors for detection, communication and engagement are discussed. Finally, the activities for agents are analyzed.(3) SoS effectiveness for CEC is analyzed.The CEC SoS effectiveness simulation model framework is implemented. The contribution to SoS effectiveness for CEC is analyzed by ABMS. They are built based on SoS effectiveness analysis simulation platform. The experiment design for PCW,NCW and CEC is analyzed. The factors include ship number and combat strength. The experiment results are analyzed and the difference in experiment between ABMS and traditional method is illustrated. The experiment shows the SoS behavior control in CEC is most important for SoS effectiveness.
