Distribution system is the directly connected part of the whole power system to customs. A strong power grid structure is the foundation of distribution system for safety and economy. However, current research only focus on feeder connection mode so as to neglect substation structure in different landform and load density. Power Supply Model (PSM) of MV distribution system which is learned from typical PSM abroad is presented. The main contents as follows:1. The definition of PSM is given. Power Supply Framework(PSF) indicated interconnection structure of substation is established according with landform and load density. Integrated PSM is formed by the analysis of PSF and connection mode.2. The attribute of PSM is gained so that PSM can be described by statistics.3. An evaluation index system of PSM which contains power supply capability, power supply quality, power transfer capability, economy and coordination is established and of analysis method of the indexes is presented. The effect to power supply distance caused by load rate of lines is also considered so that calculation method of length of line is corrected in the analysis of reliability, voltage deviation, economy, etc. PSM are evaluated by the evaluation index system and the evaluation result of each PSM is given.4. The construction of PSM can be divided into three periods: initial period, developing period and developed period. The proposal of construction of each PSM is given to make it smooth from now to the perspective.
