The Applicability Of New Transport System In Urban Traffic

With the continuous improvement of the level of urbanization in China, the city is facingincreasing pressure by the urban traffic. China is of a large population, and less resources. Thegreat efforts to develop urban public transport, especially the new traffic transport which has thecharacteristics of an unit energy consumption less,low environmental pollution, largecapacity,is to ease traffic pressure and improve travel quality.In this thesis, the applicability ofthe new transport system in China's urban transport development are discussed.The maincontents and conclusions are as follows:1, Classification and characteristics of the new transport system were summarized throughaspects of technical performance, economic, environmental and landscape impact comparedwith conventional public transport and rail transport. The new transport system shows excellentadvantages2, Nanjing, Suzhou, Xinxiang City, for example, were discussed as the different types of thecity's traffic problems. Based on the existing traffic problems, application prospects of the newtransport system and applicability were discussed by aspects of economic, technical, roadconditions and one or more kinds of new traffic systems was put up to meet the needs.3, The applicability of the new transport system in urban development were further analysedand summarized. Considering the urban traffic factors of traffic volume, economies, populationand transport structure, the applicability of the modern streetcar, BRT, and the new trolley buseswere respectively discussed.4, The applicability was further analysed by the the planning of new transport system ofFoshan City. Combined the forecasting passenger volume,the energy,environment,andtransportation sharing rate were compared between present and further. The results showed thatwould not only save energy and reduce pollution,but also increase public transportation rateafter the use of new transportation systems.All in all, the new transport systems are of features, such as energy saving, environmentalprotection, economic, fast, comfortable, and etc.It has great prosperity of deveolpment inChina.Corresponding to different levels of the city, it will play a key transportation role, or as acomplement of rail transportation,extension of contact or transition. The new transport systemwill be choosed as the first transport way by more and more residents.With the increase ofinvest by government,the sustainable development of urban transport will be carried out.Theresults in this thesis provided the basis for urban transportation system planning andgovernment decision in city development.
