Study On The Post Occupancy Evaluation Of Gucun Park

In recent years, Country Parks'construction was developing rapidly in some cities. InChina, study on Country Park was also developing. However, the domestic study onCountry Park was still in the exploration and trial stage, most research just scratched thesurface of the basic concept of country parks and the constructing period, and rarelyinvolved the evaluation of theirs usage. As the rapid development of the country parks,people need Post Occupancy Evaluation Index System to support it. Gucun Park gets agood social repercussion after the opening to the public, yet it has not been conducted onPost Occupancy Evaluation.In this context, this study had researched and analyzed Gucun Park by using themethod of Post Occupancy Evaluation, and built models about Post Occupancy EvaluationIndex System in Country Park in order to contribute to the follow-up study. Afterassessment of Gucun Park, this study made recommendations for improvement whichcould provide reference for the country parks in the future expansion and newconstruction. First,this study reviewd the theories of Country Park, environmental psychology,methods of landscaping evaluation, Post Occupancy Evaluation, which lay theoreticalfoundation for building Post Occupancy Evaluation Index System in Country Park.Second, this study taken Gucun Park as an example. The data were collected by usingmethods such as Documentation Analysis, Non-participant Observation, QuestionnaireSurvey, and Likert Scale Method. Taking recreational function and ecological function asthe starting point, this study built models about Post Occupancy Evaluation Index Systemin Country Park, including12other functions. Then, this study calculated the right to eachindex weight which combined of the assignment of each indicator to determine the scoreof a usage evaluation in Gucun Park.Finally, this study made recommendations about the using of the method of PostOccupancy Evaluation, and made some recommendations and countermeasures byanalyzing the results of the evaluation on Gucun Park. Optimization of Gucun Parkincluded four aspects, Gucun Park should emphasize on the social value of Country Park,and strengthen the scientific and educational function of Country Park, and strengthenthe ecological function from rational development, and improve the protection of thesystem of Country Park.
