POE（Post-occupancy Evaluation）Research On Urban Regional Park

Urban parks are the major places for people to be close to nature, release stress and participate in social activities. Besides, urban parks play an important role in various value systems such as ecological environment, society, culture, economy and so on. With the vigorous promotion of urban construction, the construction of parks also has a rapid growth in our country. However, the post-occupancy effects and the update of built-parks do not get the due attention. Urban Regional Park is characterized by large areas, the high frequency in use, diverse facilities and abundant activities. It will be helpful to play an effective role in aspects of natural ecology and humanistic ecology by focusing on the post-occupancy effects of parks and making targeted improvements.China-Singapore Cooperation Zone in the Suzhou Industrial Park, located on the east-west landscape axis in Suzhou, is a typical area of shaping the new image of Suzhou. Taking post-occupancy evaluation on regional park-Fangzhou Park in China-Singapore Cooperation Zone as an example, the author first tries to make an on-site investigate to know about the general conditions and its surroundings,and then makes qualitative analysis of the image of the park and the characteristics of environmental behavior; Meanwhile, drawing on the achievements of POE(Post-Occupancy Evaluation) in theoretical and practical researches and taking self-features of Fangzhou Park and the purposes of the research into account comprehensively to construct index system to evaluate the post-occupancy of Fangzhou Park quantificationally and analyze the average value of all index factors. Through the ways of qualitative analysis and quantitative evaluation, this paper makes a comprehensive analysis and post-occupancy evaluation on Fangzhou Park and offers corresponding optimization suggestion.Taking Fangzhou Park as an example, this paper applies qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate the post-occupancy of Urban Regional Park and summarizes the applicability of researching methods carefully. See far from bits,by such study, it can not only provide references to the post-occupancy evaluation of Urban Regional Park, but also cause more attention of people to the problems of built-parks, such as the post-occupancy effects, their update and so on.
