The earthquake is one of the most hazardous natural disasters. Great improvement has been made in the history of seismic hazard resistance, and the technology of structural earthquake resistance incline to structural control gradually.With the development of the high-rise buildings height, the lateral loads become more important to the structural analysis and design. Aiming to be with "Low-cost. High-performance, Easy-manufacturing and Convenient-construction". KMUST-EERI studied an low cost friction dissipation brace structure system. When the frame-tube structure is not so strong, it can set the low cost friction dissipation brace to increase the lateral stiffness in appropriate place and increase the entire performance of seismic.It is summarized the method theoretical and development of the energy dissipation technology, and the theoretical basis and constitution of low cost friction energy dissipation braced system is demonstrated. And analysis method and theory of the energy dissipation braced is also discussed.After that, it is combined an engineering application of a frame-tube structure which is entirely calculated by using the software as SATWE and ETABS. and the results are compared.It is known that the drift can satisfiy the demand of the code of seismic design of buildings while the start force of the low cost friction dissipation drace sets1000KN using the method of elastic response spectrum and elastic time history in frequency earthquake.By analysing the internal force of the brace,in the frequency earthquake.the internal force of friction energy dissipation is smaller than start force and the facility is not started.lt only provides the lateral stiffness to the structure.However.in the rare earthquke, the internal force of friction energy dissipation is bigger than start force and the facility is started to dissipation energy.The newly energy dissipation system is a terribly practical value while it applies in an engineering.Third,it is improves several schemes of the friction energy dissipation and does the numerical analysis using CAE software ABAQUS.It is known that it is good for avoiding warp of top and below broad under single bolt ultimate load while it adds some size stiffeners to the top broad of originality four bolts.To six bolts model,increasing thickness of broad or adding stiffeners can efficiently avoid broad warp under single bolt ultimate load.The last, combined some problems of research and engineering application provide the forward and problem of requireing to solve of the project.Low cost friction energy dissipation braced system is the result of the techology of friction energy dissipation applied in frame tube.The facility can efficiently improve the structure seismic performance.The research of this paper will play an important role in application of friction energy dissipation brace in high-rise or super high rise structure.
