Research On The Installation And Adjustment Technology Of Main Engine

During the period of ship construction, the main engine installation and shaft alignment is always a key item, which directly affect the quality of the normal operation of propulsion devices. Especially for the large engine, the installation process will produce some special problems because of its own weight. The quality of shaft installation also plays a key role during the normal operation of the propulsion device. This paper take 3500TEU container ship as the research object and investigated the problems of main engine hoisting and shaft alignment. The results will provide theoretical basis for the later same type or similar ship installations. The main research contents as follows:The hoisting technology of the main engine was determined through analyzing the information that offered by diesel factory and the concrete implementation steps also were discussed. The verification of the loads of hoisting sling was carried out. The hoisting construction preparation, technology and points for attention were illuminated.The reasonable craft of the hoisting of engine base, frame and cylinder and shaft alignment was made based on the detailed understanding of the engine and the shaft. The craft ensures standardization installation, avoids some accidents and makes the job easier.The inspection of bearing load was done by jack-up method, meanwhile, the adjustment process of bearing load and main engine were also brought out. They ensure the process of shaft alignment and epoxy cast effectively. The plastic casting and anchor bolt pumping technology of the main engine and the intermediate bearing were made by analyzing the influential factors of epoxy shrinkage. They prevent epoxy poured on the uncertainty of bearing load and plastic deformation of main engine base effectively.
