Gear speeder is mechanical equipment with high-speed rotation. Under the condition of high-speed rotating, the range of excitation frequency is very wide. With the rapid development of science and technology, the vibration problem of gear speeder has been gradually concerned by people. As important power transmission equipment, the vibration characteristic of gear speeder will directly determine the working performance of the whole test platform. Therefore, the research on the vibration characteristic of gear speeder has important practical significance.The correctness of mechanical equipment model is a precondition of correct numerical simulation results. In this paper, the finite element model of gear speeder box is established based on finite element method. The effectiveness of the established model is verified with free modal analysis of gear speeder box. It provides data basis for subsequent calculation and analysis. According to the theory of modal analysis, the modal analysis of gear speeder box is carried out. The modal frequency and modal shape of gear speeder box are determined. Then, they are used to analyze the dynamic characteristics of box. The vibration differential equation of gear speeder is established with mechanical vibration theory. Based on the equation, calculation formula of vibration response for multi-degree of freedom system is established. The method that improves vibration characteristics of structure with modification of modal parameter is proposed. On the basis of this method, the influencing factors of modal parameters for gear speeder box are studied. The theoretical analysis of dynamic characteristics for box is carried out. It can verify the rationality of the box structure. Further verification can be carried out with vibration test. Therefore, the test system, test platform and test scheme are designed. The vibration test is implemented under the condition of empty load and full speed. The rationality of box structure is verified with the analysis of vibration test data. The improved design of gear speeder box is carried out on the basis of dynamic characteristic analysis and test research. With the combination of scheme design and size optimization, the optimal structure of box is obtained. The optimal vibration characteristic of gear speeder can be ensured with the optimal structure.The research can provide theoretical basis for the dynamic design and improved design of gear speeder structure. It also can provide reference for the structure design of gearbox.
