Development And Research Of The Involute Cylindrical Gear Transmission Based On The VB Second Development SolidWorks

Gear transmission is one of the most important transmission forms in the mechanical industry. It has many virtues such as high efficiency,exact transmission ratio,reliable operation and so on. The gear design is a complicated process ,which requires repetitions , consulting massive data and graph as well as calculating because of large number of items besides , owing to the complexity of involute gear tooth profile,the tradition design methods can't meet demand .With the development of computer technology , the application of CAD software ,general software for secondary development to achieve CAD ,has become a trend of special gear CAD software application.Based on the theory of involute cylindrical gear design, Windows XP operating system used as development platform, Visual Basic 6.0 as programming as development platform, Visual Basic 6.0 as programming tools for 3D modeling software, SolidWorks 2008 for the secondary development achieve the automation design of the parameter involute gear transmission, 3D modeling and the automatic generation of gear engineering drawings, which shorten the cycle of product design and improve efficiency.This research points as follows:(1) After the investigation of involute gear and research status of gear CAD, the existing problems are summarized and the intention and significance of research are put forward.(2) Study of basic theory on involute cylindrical gear transmission design and SolidWorks second development .Through the analysis of the failure forms gear, gear design standards and methods are carried out, Through the research and development of CAD software and the general principles, methods and basic steps, the idea of SolidWorks second development comes into being.(3) The design of the secondary development of SolidWorks involve cylindrical gear transmission system .According to the development of system, modular design principles, a system function module is designed. Mainly by the database management, gear parameter design, 3D modeling as well as assisting system gear, good user interface is designed and developed.(4) The key development of involute cylindrical gear transmission parameter design module .Access 2003 and ADO database technology are applied to designing charts into database. In addition, according to gear design theory, using VB program, through calculation and analysis, the involute gear transmission parameter design, check are guaranteed.(5) Major in developing the 3D modeling of involute cylindrical gear module .Using interpolation method and macro function to achieve straight teeth, helical gear 3D modeling and prowse rendering drawings in order to avoid the tooth profile .Modification of the gear distortion provide the modeling of finite element analysis ,design and simulation test of machining etc .for necessary basis.
