Gear mechanism is the most widely used applications in mechanical engineering, with a large range of transmission power, the accurate transmission ratio, high transmission efficiency, reliability, long life and other advantages.For the gear mechanism, excessive tooth surface wear, not only the accuracy of the gear ratio and transmission efficiency will be affected agencies vibration, noise and heat, but can also cause serious wear and even cause a strong impact and resulting in gearfracture, damage to the mechanism. Due to wear and tear are many and varied, but also because of the wear mechanism is very complex now, most of the research and wear test test test a long time, resulting in the consumption of large quantities of human, financial and material resources, so, numerical simulation method to solve the complex problem of wear is very effective.This paper based on Archard wear equation and contact mechanics theory to study the conditions of involute cylindrical gear contact, wear trends, as a basis for gear wear the mathematical model is determined by computer simulation. Specific implementation, the first derived a formula based on the the Archard wear of simulation model, gear contact stress calculated by the Hertz theory. MATLAB program involute tooth profile accurate modeling, the dynamic effects of gear tooth profile and wear simulation. Development simulation platform based on MATLAB (GUI), and the United MATLAB and the finite element program to achieve development of the the wear simulation system of procedures, the system can simulate certain conditions, involute straight tooth cylindrical gear meshing process tooth profile changes situation. The main contents are as follows:(1) This paper is based on generating method of gear cutting principle, determine the involute segments and transition segments algorithm parameter ranges. The algorithm in MATLAB programming verification using the parametric equations can accurately model the two-dimensional model of the gear.(2) Archard wear model combined with the Hertz contact theory to establish the mathematical model of involute cylindrical gear wear process, to gear wear process simulation based on the mathematical model, in order to get the amount of wear of the gear tooth profile.(3) In this paper, MATLAB as a platform through the GUI (graphical user interface) simulation algorithm, program development, and to establish a the gear wear prediction system to achieve the simulation input parameters gear wear through a graphical interface.
