Gear system is one of important parts in mechanical power train.But gear engaging-in and gear engaging-out may occur due to manufacturing error, assembly error and loading deform, as a result, power train is not stable, and noise and vibration are generated. So, we would to trim the gears. Correct trimming can improve load distribution, increase accuracy of the power train and increase load amount.We establish a parameterized model in our ANSYS according to the gear tooth profile equation of the involute spur gears, analyze the contact stresses, get the maximum contact stress of gear. Based on hz theory, to calculate the theory of gear, get the maximum contact stress of gear theoretical solution. Compare both of them it is demonstrated that the correctness of the gear modeling with finite element method to simulate the gearing mesh situation and the feasibility of the stress calculation in ANSYS.Parameterized design language APDL must be used to determine the max trimming value and max trimming angle for involute spur gears. In the mean time, we use finite element analysis tool in ANSYS to make contact analysis for trimmed gears, make grid division for the parameters, apply load, find the solution, and display the treatment result, compare and analysis the gear contact stress condition before the trim and after, so as to determine the best shape quantity.Based on Visual Basic6.0developed involute spur gear parameter repair form application software, calling ANSYS directly, through input the parameters, calling the ANSYS, we can get the gear model, and obtain ANSYS contact analysis results. Realize the parametric finite element analysis. A good way to solve the human interface, accurate direct, and so on. you can also very good through the software for gear finite element analysis even you do not know ANSYS. shorten the design cycle and improve work efficiency.
