Study On Material Representing On Shanghai World Expo Pavilion Designing

With the materials of Shanghai world expo pavilion as the research object,I have made a study on material representing in the design of pavilion in Shanghai world expo with the methods of Literature researching, summary,On-the-spot investigation and illustrating to the argument.First chapter of this paper summarizes the current situation of this research, the purpose and significance of research.The second chapter,from the basic attributes and visual features points materials are introduced, understanding the the basic of materials performance from basic characteristics of material. The third chapter basically analyses the characteristics of pavilion in the world expo,the relationship between materials and pavilion design,and materials using on the pavilions, providing research foundation for below research.The fourth chapter, Imade a deep study on the way material perform by itself or combined with science and technology, characteristics of shadows, or material combination, and take example to the argument. The fifth chapter analysis how to use material reflect the cultural connotation and ecological concept of the pavilion in Shanghai world expo.The sixth chapter I made a definite analysis on material representing of British pavilion,Spanish pavilion,Vietnam pavilion and Polish pavilion. Finally summarize the innovative methods of material representing and looking the trend of using material.I hope that I can have an overall understanding on material representing on the pavilion design in Shanghai world expo.And summary the ideas and innovative methods of material representing, and hope that the result of this paper can provide theoretical guidance and reference for the designers in the future when using materials to design program.
