Our country's highway construction has been nearly three decades, The highway's high speed, large-scale development, has achieved an unprecedented level. With the rapid development of traffic, coupled with the rapid increase in the number of heavy vehicles and other reasons, the early damage of highway pavement is becoming more and more severe.While in our country, most of the early construction of cement concrete pavement, used to now, most of them are already crumbling. In a future period, will be the cement concrete pavement overhaul period. The maintenance technical of overlay pavement start earlier in overseas,is mature in the experience,while our country start later, most of the emphasis on practical applications in the construction methods and the effect of evaluation. At home and abroad for the overhaul of existing cement concrete pavement reconstruction, there are three main methods, in which the Asphalt Overlay on the old road is the most effective and most commonly used method. This can better improve the pavement performance and extend the pavement life, taking full advantage of the existing pavement and cost savings.In this paper, the use of cement concrete pavement and the overhaul of the current situation is analyzed. Summarizes the reasons for the old pavement of the disease, while system analysis for the old cement concrete pavement performance and structural performance evaluation.which is critical to the design, and is the base of the overlay design. The overlay design method and theory has been the focus of the road workers study at home and abroad. The differences in design theory method home and abroad are great, system summarizes the existing asphalt overlay design of domestic and abroad and carries on the comparative and evaluation. Through these design methods of overlay design method, proposed the selection principle of the overlay program, according to engineering practice, and theoretical analysis, proposed the typical structure of asphalt overlays with the different road grades and different traffic conditions, and applied to highway test section to certificate the reasonable applicability of the structure.
