With the severe problems of energy crisis and environmental pollution, it's necessary to develop the clean renewable energy resources. The solar energy is one of the resources which are surely the cleanest, the most practical and the most promising to be developed in large scale. In the application of solar energy, photovoltaic (PV) generation is a major mode which has already received wide attention.There are many factors affecting the photovoltaic grid generated by solar energy, such as the local solar energy resource, the arrangement of the photovoltaic battery array, and the grid way of the system. Hence, the photovoltaic grid generation should be studied systematically.This paper first analyzes the distribution of solar energy resource in China, and makes a research on the areas suitable for using solar energy. Then the paper studies the radiation theory of the solar energy, and establishes the radiation quantity of the sun on the slope of PV array. Next, starting from the theory of PV generation, a systematic study is made on the PV grid generation system. The study is mainly about the influence of the dip angle and space separation of the PV array. It is suggested that the best angle of the PV array should be designed according to the monthly radiation quantity of the sun and the local power utilization peak. Further research is made on the computational method of the generated energy under the PV generation system and the grid ways of the PV generation systems with different volumes. Final ly, based on the pilot project of the 1.45-MW- roof- PV-generation on the government occupancies in Jiashan, the application of the PV grid generation in the practical projects is discussed with examples.Photovoltaic (PV) grid generation is the major direction and is destined to develop fast.
