Heart diseases often happen suddenly and are with high fatalness. In order to detect the illness in time, people need to conduct effective monitoring on the patients suffered from heart diseases. On the basis of research on the electrocardiogram monitoring both at home and abroad, a set of remote wireless electrocardiogram(ECG) monitoring system based on Freescale processor and GPRS is designed in this paper. Patients can wear a portable instrument to collect and analyze ECG data, and then send to monitoring soft by GPRS wireless module, to achieve real-time detection of ECG for a long time. This System is simple for using and convenient for carrying, and has low power consumption, small size and so on.Firstly, In addition to study the human ECG producing principle and means in ECG wave band, the author analyzed the character of the ECG signal and its main disturb source and studied the request of ECG signal detecting. Later, the remote wireless ECG monitoring system is devised.The function of hardware circuits in ECG monitoring system is to amplify and filter and send ECG data. The paper designed hardware circuits of ECG detection including circuits of the preceding protection, preamplifier magnifying, high-pass filter and low-pass filter, postposition magnifying and electricity smooth change. After the discussion and analysis of the method that how to control the GPRS module, the hardware circuit of controlling it is also designed. In the software project, the bottom program of MC9S12XS128 is used to collect the ECG data and control the AT injunction to the GPRS module, which the wireless transmission is success on the ECG data.An easy to operate and beautiful system's software is Programmed by LabVIEW which has graphic programming environment, including the analyze and disposal and display and store the ECG data, the operator can measure the ECG quality of the patient real time, then can give the diagnosis and treatment. Meanwhile, auto-alarm system is also designed.Finally, the designed ECG monitoring system is tested, and the experiment results show that system has good Perform in signal sampling, processing and displaying. And it proves that the method of ECG monitoring system design is feasible. However, for the development of technology, the paper concludes with some existing areas and development trends that remote ECG monitoring system need to improve.
