Loader is one of the most representative products of China construction machinery industry, which is widely used in highways, construction, hydropower, ports, mine and other construction projects as earth-rock construction machinery. With high work speed, high efficiency, flexible operation and other advantages and play an important role in reducing the labor intensity, accelerating the engineering construction rate, elevating the engineering quality, lowering the engineering costs, so it is one of the indispensable equipment in modern mechanical construction.Loader frame, including the front frame and the rear frame, is one of the foundation parts of the loader. The front frame connects with the work device and the rear frame by the hinge pins and the rear frame is used to install the cab, operation platform, engine, hood and pullback weight, etc. Because the structure of loader frame is very complex and prone to destroy invalid, the design level of loader frame directly affect the whole products performance and competitiveness. Therefore it makes a key technology problem of the loader design, which is the main research problem in this paper, that how to improve loader frame designing level.Firstly, based on the structure diagram of the XG958 wheel loader work device, the load value of the hinge pin between the work device and the front frame was calculated under various operation conditions in the paper. Then, the geometric model of the loader frame is directly established by the Pro/E software and imported to ANSYS to create finite element model. Through the overall analysis of the front frame and the rear frame in the typical operation conditions, the whole distributions of stress of the front and rear frame of XG958 wheel loader were obtained in typical operation conditions. Finally, base on the distribution of the stress, the local structure of XG958 wheel loader frame was improved and the result was validated.The structure analysis and research on the front and the rear frame of XG958 wheel loader have provided a feasible method for the research of the loader frame. The analysis has also provided reliable data for the design of the loader frame, to achieve shortened product design cycle, improve product performance and enterprise efficiency.
