Changan Automotive Form Design Evaluation System Building And Usability Testing

The research projects is originated from Changan Automobile (Group) Co. Ltd: " High-level Semantic and Genetic Based Evaluation System of Changan Automotive Products"; part of 973 Research Project--The Knowledge-base Industrial Design Assistant System, and a cooperation project between Automotive Laboratory in Hunan University and "Zhongqi--High level of Vehicle Capability of Independent Innovation in China Construction".Psychology and cognitive science related areas of research methods are used in the course of research, with design evaluation process as the research subject, and design evaluation system as research purpose. Based on analysis of the theory of methods of design evaluation, introduce system evaluation scale semantic adjectives library, and use the concept of scenario for visualizing the semantic space, construct the moodboard for semantic adjectives. Based on the study of semantics and automotive styling features, the paper propose task flow mapping framework of design and evaluation, build the vehicle design process-based evaluation system, then use the theory of the availability to test and improve the evaluation system. By evaluation elements, evaluation process, evaluation system and evaluation system usability testing, the paper construct and initial validate the Changan Automotive Design Evaluation System, has important theoretical and practical significance in the product design evaluation theory and methodology.The purpose of this study is to construct a vehicle design evaluation system for Chongqing Changan Automobile (Group) Co., Ltd. and its practical significance is providing a scientific and standard management and communication platform for corporate management, designers to address the problems present in the product development, such as: great influence on the assessment of leadership, assessment process is not standardized, and results of the assessment has no guidance. Thereby it will reduce the risk of product development, improve the efficiency of the design work and shorten the development cycle, enhance enterprise competitiveness in the market and create economic value for the enterprise.
