Research On The External Interface And Its Intersection Of Contemporary Architecture Design

The appearance of the building is an important part of contemporary urban form. As an important factor to determine the appearance character of contemporary architecture, the form of external interface and its intersection is critical in both architecture and urban design. Therefore, the reasonable choice of the form of external interface and tis intersection in the practice, not only help to optimize the appearance of the building, but play an essential role in the urban development in the future.Consequently, this dissertation is based on amounts of examples of contemporary buildings. By means of diagram analysis, this thesis summarizes the design strategies of the external interface and its intersection in contemporary buildings, investigates the theories and characters of the external interface, and then, concludes their functions in ether architecture or urban design. These studies above are intended to provide references to architects and scholars, at the same time, bring some inspirations to Chinese architecture design.According to the content and purpose of research, this thesis consists of three parts: first of all, analyzing the composition of the external interface in contemporary building, and concluding the differences between it and old ones; secondly, in order to indicate their character and usability, summarizing the forms of it; at last, researching on the logical relationship among the interface and its intersection in contemporary buildings, architecture, and urban design, to conclude the influences and functions of the external interface and its intersection in contemporary buildings in the design practice.Though the research on the parts above, this dissertation intends to summarize the main strategies of the external interface and its intersection in contemporary architecture design, and guide architects to get the best result in design practice, which is in both architecture and urban design.
