This thesis is proposed as a result of the flange reducer'annular gear of heavy-duty electrical wheel dump truck damaged after a period of work. Based on the special structure of flange reducer, introduces it's interior fixed axis gear train, analyses the contact stress and bending stress of annular gear, emphasis on the stress of annular gear under the influence of different factors, and raises improved methods for some factors.In this thesis, first, by using program of Pro/E software, an accurate parametric model of involute cylindrical gears is modeled. The model can be easily changed in terms of gear related geometric parameters. And by establishing the interface between Pro/E and ANSYS, the model is imported accurately into the ANSYS software. By combining the CAD software with ANSYS, its scope of application has been expanded.Then through two example which are two cylinder, the axis are parallel and the axis are crossed 5°to each other, verifies the reliability of ANSYS software.And then by comparing the influence of deformation of axis, points out that the deformation of axis will make one end contact and the stress distribution appears to be uneven, which seriously affects the carrying capacity of the annular gear.In this thesis, by analysing the stress of annular gear with different flange thickness and tooth width, obtains the most reasonable tooth width and flange thickness; By analysing the annular gear stress when load sharing coefficient is 1.3 and when there is spline gap, can conclude the last case is the sensitive factor which makes the annular gear damaged. At the end, raises some methods to improve the condition, that is, modifies external gear tooth for the drum shape, takes the most reasonable flange width and gear thickness as well as improves the contained devices.
