The soda residue is the industrial waste in the pure soda process which was produced by the ammonia-soda method. At the present time, China is the world's largest soda ash producer. Every year, there will be produced nearly 300 million ton soda residue. Because of high alkaline and chloride ion content of soda residue, the current treatment methods are landfill and reclamation, they will cause serious pollution to the ecological environment.Based on high alkaline and chloride ion content of soda residue, the paper presents research direction that soda residue is applied to inorganic binder stabilize materials and cement-stabilized soil, and does experimental study.Firstly, the paper analyses the physical, chemical characteristics and the strength of cementations materials particle size for soda residue. Research indicates that particle size composition of soda residue is similar to cement, which can be used as mineral admixtures. It also shows that high alkaline is mainly caused by the use of soda residue, and ion of the soda residue has some stimulating effect, this feature can be used as mineral admixture activator. Washing can effectively reduce the chloride ion concentration, but cannot remove all the chloride ions, thus in the use of soda residue, the impact of chloride ions must be taken into account.Secondly, the paper makes experimental research of soda residue applied to inorganic binder stabilize materials, prepares Cement/Lime/Flying ash-soda residue stabilize stone chips and Mineral admixture-cement-so-da residue stone chips, studies the effect of material composition and the mixture ratio on the strength performance and durability of soda residue stabilize stone chips, the chloride ion dissolution of soda residue stabilize stone chips are analyzed at the same time. The results show that the soda residue for the stability of inorganic binder material is feasible, but it should be made the appropriate choice of soda residue amount and the cementations materials composition and amount.(1) Cement/Lime/Flying ash-soda residue stabilize stone chips were made unconfined compressive strength test. The results show that the strength of pure lime /lime-fly ash-soda residue stabilize stone chips is low, it cannot meet the requirements of the strength of sub base. Compared with lime series, the strength of cement-soda residue stabilize stone chips is high, but it still cannot meet the engineering requirements. Use for reference on high-performance concrete research results, prepare of a mineral admixture - cement - soda residue stabilize stone chips, increase dosage of cementations materials, adjust the ratio of cement and mineral admixture, the strength of stone chips on the soda residue stabilize stone chips is significantly improved, mineral admixture-cement-soda residue stabilize stone chips is feasible.(2) Experimental study of long age strength performance, durability and chloride leaching by mineral admixture-cement-soda residue stabilize stone chips. Long age strength test shows that different mineral admixture doped has different effects to the early strength and long-term strength of soda residue stabilize stone chips, single-doped slag powder is favorable to the early strength, and slag and fly ash mixed is favorable to long-term strength. Durability test shows that the measured permeability coefficient of mixture soda residue doped is very smaller, the basic state is impermeable during the experiment; And when the dosage of cementations materials is less than 10%, the inorganic binder stabilize materials with doped soda residue has good frost resistance. Through experiment of dissolution rate of chloride ion and study, with the conservation of time, overall, the leaching of chloride ions is small in soda residue stone chips. Soda residue stone chips for the inorganic binder is feasible.Thirdly, the applied research of soda residue in organic cement-stabilized soil is carried out in the paper firstly. The results show that the soda residue used in high organic matter content of soil-cement is feasible, the appropriate amount is related to organic content.(1) The experiment takes silt as the study objects, by mixing sodium humate to adjust the organic content, and then reinforce the silt by slurry mixed with soda residue. By comparing, when the organic matter content up to 15% of the silt soil, reinforced with cement alone is not feasible, the block of cement-stabilized soil is severely softened, there cannot be measured intensity, but mixed with soda residue, the compressive strength will be greatly improved, the strength of re-mixed slag powder are improved more effectively.(2) The strength of the cement mixed soda residue and slag powder will be improved significantly when organic content in the soil is certain; To 11% organic content of the soil, replace the part of cement with the same amount of slag powder, the early and long term strength of the cement soil are enhancement after mixed with soda residue . When cement soil strength is higher than 1.5MPa, cement soil can meet the general engineering requirements.
