This thesis takes a certain type of shell feeding machine as its research background. According to the request of the project, this study focuses on a torque controllable high-speed transmission clutch. On the basis of comparative analysis of transmission clutch, the paper mainly studies the MRF transmission clutch. A new design of the modular torque controllable high-speed transmission clutch is proposed for the project application, corresponding calculation and test on the unit modular were also completed.The main contents of this work are:(1)The characteristics of different types of transmission clutch were compared and analyzed. According to the request of the application background, torque controllable, torque stability under high-speed, short response time, low power dissipation, MRF was chose for the medium of the transmission clutch.(2)A torque transfer model of cylindrical type of MRF transmission clutch was established. The main parameters on the impact of torque were analyzed by theoretical analysis, a simplified mathematical model was proposed for the torque calculation. At the same time, the working principle and the torque transfer model of modular transmission clutch of the torque controllable high-speed transmission clutch were proposed, based on the modular design idea.(3)The hardware of torque controllable high-speed transmission clutch was designed, that used the derived formula of cylindrical MRF transmission clutch and the magnetic circuit design theory. With the help of numerical software ANSYS, the magnetic circuit of the unit modular was analyzed. The correctness of magnetic circuit design verified through theoretical calculations. At the same time, seal design was also considered. According to the performance of unit modular, oil-seal was appropriate to prevent leakage of liquid. The distribution of heat sources was studied, four options were proposed to improve the capacity of heat dissipation. Finally, factors that affect the unit module in response time were also studied(4)A unit modular of torque controllable high-speed transmission clutch was designed and processed. The experimental system, NJ-100B torsion test machine, was constructed. Under the certain rotating speed, output torque change with the different excitation current was studied, the actual results and the theoretical values of the output were analyzed and compared, which verified the correctness of design and analysis method.
