In recent years, network operation plays a dominant role in urban rail transit. Various influencing factors make the risk of operation becoming more and more serious. Meanwhile, the traffic adjustment policies give rise to a phenomenon that increasing safety risks emerge from the operation procedure. It's more and more difficult to launch the management of operation safety, along with expanding scale of network. Assessing the safety condition of urban rail transport operation from the perspective of overall, and studying comprehensive evaluation model, provide a theoretical basis for the decision of the management department.This paper is relied on the national "12th Five-Year" Science and Technology Support Project-Key technologies and systematic development of urban rail transit network operational safety (2011BAG01B02). Based on the in-depth research and analysis of urban rail transit operation status, aimed at the characteristics of urban rail transit network operation and integrated with the status of passengers, key equipment and facilities and environment and so on, this paper will research the operational safety situations under the condition of combined multi-factor effects. The main works are as follows:(1) Make an in-depth researches on the relevant departments of the typical large urban rail transit (Beijing, Guangzhou), then analyze the safety elements which impact the urban rail transit operation.(2) Make an in-depth analysis based on results from the researches above, build a stations, lines, and network-oriented comprehensive evaluation index system. The calculation method of each index and the fusion algorithm of aggregate index are proposed based on the network model.(3) Establish preprocessing methods for data, and construct the comprehensive evaluation models based on the improved-wavelet neural network.(4) Build a simulation platform of comprehensive evaluation based on MATLAB for simulation and confirmation, which realize comprehensive evaluation of the urban rail transit operational safety.
