Gantry crane is applied in all fields of country economy construction widely and the products have many series. With the development of economy construction, the customer's demand of design to crane becomes more and more high.So design and calculation methods of loading and unloading machines need to be renewed, substantiated and consummated constantly to make the hoisting and conveying machinery more economic, feasible, reliable and safe.during the process of the traditional crane design, the parameter involved is numerous, the calculation formula is tedious, the calculation's efficiency is low, design process is not intuitive and easily makes mistakes for the designer, design often requires repeated changes, Produced a lot of repetitive work. Obviously this method have already can't adapted currently demand of the port machine's develops. Meanwhile, Between the same range of products, the main difference is just parameters and substructure, the overall structure is similar. If engineer design different type of the same tandem products through similarity serial design based on the basic design, Product design would be more efficient. Therefor, application of New design method is necessary.With the development of computer technology, the emerging and upgrades of all kinds of design software have a great role on raising the level of crane design.The development of parametric design technology provides a theoretical and technical support to improve the efficiency of crane design. It's a trend to make use of the strong function of calculator and combining various designing means and advanced theories in hoisting and conveying machinery's design.So this paper using MDG40gantry crane as an example to make design study of the Girder Structure.In this paper, with the study of structure feature, the design flow and design method, the parametric design system of Gantry crane is designed based on the development platform-Visual Basic6.0and database-Access2003, parametric modeling and optimization analysis by the finite element analysis software ANSYS, redevelopment the API function of SolidWodrks by VB6.0. This system combine the engineer's design experience and theory of metal structure design, and consider the practical requirement of enterprise, adopt the object-oriented technology and modular design technology.In this thesis, firstly, study key technology of system development. Secondly, build the parts model, engineering drawings and database. The last, developed the parametric design system of The L-Type single-beam electric Gantry Crane's Girder Structure.In this thesis, the parametric design system of The L-Type single-beam electric Gantry Crane's Girder Structure is developed with a friendly user interface which is easy to use and understand. The Model in system is built automatically with interference check. Engineering drawings is updated automatically. It not only improves the design efficiency and quality, but also meets the need of the modern design technique. The techniques discussed in this thesis provides an advanced, reliable and rapid design approach for Gantry crane.
