Since China entered WTO, the development of ports and the requirement of port machinery have being higher and higher. So design and calculation methods of loading and unloading machines need to be renewed, substantiated and consummated constantly to make port machinery more economic, feasible, reliable and safe. To port machine, because of its specialties, and its high price, mostly the port machine is Be to carry on designing and madding alone under the customer request. And during the period of designing usually need many times iterative modification to the shape and the size to optimize and assort with the whole, particularly for the tiny change to structure and the product with stable process, we need according to the actual circumstance to chooses project or modifies size automatically, that is parametric design, what we need. Meantime, during the process of port machine design, the parameter involved is numerous, the calculation formula is tedious, and the calculation's efficiency is low and easily makes mistakes for the designer. Obviously this method have already can't adapted currently demand of the port machine's develops. It's a trend to make use of the strong function of calculator and combining various designing means and advanced theories in port machine's design. In this papers we use Rail Container Gantry Crane as a research object and do some developing work and Research on Rail Container Gantry Crane's Parametric Design. The main research contents and results of the dissertation are as fellows:1) According to the characteristics of Rail Container Gantry Crane, taking national standard as the design standard, and use for reference of domestic and international advanced concept, taking the software of Visual Basic as to design terrace, to develop a software of "Parametric Design System for Rail Container Gantry Crane", the result can be saved as text file ,using for calculation manual and reference for future design;2) To build a portal structure's parameterized FEM model using ANSYS internal command—APDL and parameterized methods. Using the saved result of software "Parametric Design System for Rail Container Gantry Crane" to modify the general model for the design of flexible leg and FEM analyzing of the total crane;3) Basing on the general finite element model to make the design of crane's flexible leg with the ANSYS internal command, given a reasonable dimension of the flexible leg combine the crane's performance and the practice of Engineering; simultaneously setting the load step for FEM analyzing and give a conclusion after the analysis.
