Recently,with the rapid development of the power electronics technology, the AC motor control theory and the computer control technology. The technique of variable frequency modulation velocity of the large power alternating current motor is becoming more and more mature today. And the ship power propeller is used so widely that it is becoming the main development direction of the ship propeller.A good ship electric propulsion system cannot get away from a good monitoring platform; a real-time monitoring platform can do well with the real-time observation on the propulsion systemThere are a very big differences between the electric propulsion and the traditional diesel oil maneuvering in the principle, so the monitoring object nature is also different completely.When traditional diesel propulsion system is in the monitor, there will be a small amount of data produced at a low speed. The electric propulsion system, on the contrary, monitoring the electric arguments of the converter and the motor which change quickly, produces a large amounts of data at a high-speed.In order to monitor and control these parameters, combined with experiences of the author involved in the development of the PCI Bus Interface Card between DSP and PC, the main contents are as follows:The paper introduces the ship electric propulsion relevant knowledge and presents current domestic and international situation in this domain.In addition, it analyses design requirements of ship electric propulsion system monitoring platform, designs overall plan of monitoring system and gives out each unit module scheme.The entire hardware circuit of monitoring platform is built, mainly including the PCI interface controller circuit, the TMS320C6713minimum system circuits and HPI interface circuit, the CPLD expanded circuits, current speed detection circuit, RS485bus circuit, CAN bus circuit and the Ethernet interface circuit.Under the QUARTUSII development platform of Altera Corporation, hardware description language (verilog) is applied to achieve the CPLD communicate program, and simulation experiments is carried out in a modeslim soft. This program is mainly used for communication between PCI9054and TMS320C6713. The TMS320C6713part of the system is coded with C and assembler language mix- program, which initializes the system configuration and achieves bootload processing from an external FLASH simultaneously.Finally, the interface card driver installation procedure and the results of the application are given out.
