The synchronizer is the core components of the manual transmission, it has a significant impact on the shifting portability, smoothness, and other major performance of the manual transmission, it plays a decisive role in vehicle maneuverability, economy, security and passengers' comfort. The performance of the synchronizer is one of the critical factors of transmission characteristics of examination, the cons of their performance and quality will directly affect the reliability of motor cars. In order to ensure the production quality of the synchronizer, it must conduct quality testing for the performance of the synchronizer accurately, fast and effectively.This paper combines school-enterprise cooperation in actual research projects, through conducting research in SGMW which is the largest mini-vehicle manufacturer, analyzing the current situation and existing problems of the research areas at home and abroad deeply, exploring the structural features of the synchronizer and influencing factors of the synchronizer performance, and analyzing the synchronizer performance and the transmission performance of the transmission, project team developed the synchronizer performance test bench based on the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee Transmission Technical Committee draft standards for the automotive industry "QC/T568-1999"QC/T568.1-2010", Japan" JASO-C203". The author focused on completion of development work of the test software based on LabVIEW, and participated in some mechanical design work and hardware design work.The paper completes three-dimensional modeling of the lock ring synchronizer by UG and assembled of the lock ring synchronizer parts. The test bench uses AC motor to simulate the engine, controls the motor speed and imposed load regulation on the eddy current dynamometer by the inverter voltage regulation, shift control mechanism uses the dual stepper motor to drive selecting gear and shifting. The system's control parts mainly build the architecture of the testing system, the test procedures based on LabVIEW achieve intelligent control of the action of the synchronizer performance test bench. It builds a virtual laboratory instruments to complete data acquisition, graphical display and data management. In order to ensure the normal use of the test bench, the operation and maintenance of the test bench and test procedures must be carried out as required. With the test bench for the synchronizer performance testing, a lot of synchronizer performance experiments of the test sample were did, it got the performance parameter data and a lot of experience, according to analyzing the performance parameter data, synchronization time of the test sample was got. The conclusions show that this system achieved the desired design goals.The study of the test bench for the synchronizer performance testing of MT based on LabVIEW combine mechanical and electrical technology with computer-aided testing techniques, it enhances the test level of the enterprise, provides technical information platform to improve the R&D capabilities of China's auto companies. Its research and development have theoretical significance and practical value.
