The synchronizer is the core part of the automobile transmission,and the point of its work is to make the speed of the synchronizer consistent with that of the input gear,which is accordance with the function of contact surface friction force,so that to effectively avoid the noise and lash that accompanies with gear shifting,ultimately,to achieve rapid but stable shifting process.With the continuous development of the automobile technology,the automobile market has put forward higher requirement to the performance of the transmission,which means that the newer product research and development needs to be tested again and again,thus shortening the product development cycle and improving the enterprise's competitiveness.Moreover,there are two problems should be pointed out.The testing features of the synchronizer couldn't be determined just by studying simple theories of itself.Consequently,many relevant and special tests that aiming at the synchronizer play the highly important roles in the process of researching and developing the synchronizer.At present,there are some obvious gaps between the key technology of the synchronizer test bench and that of the similar products in foreign countries.Therefore,it is remarkably significant to improve the capability of research and development in the field of synchronizer itself and the performance test bench of the synchronizer.This paper combined a transmission plant for research with the actual research projects,studied deeply the current situations and thee problems of the domestic research and international research,explored the working principles and performance factors of the synchronizer,and developed the synchronizer performance test bench according to the synchronizer experimental device analysis that came from the comparison of "Automotive mechanical transmission assembly bench test method-heavy".The author completed the mechanical structure design of the single box of the synchronizer test bed and the mechanical structure design of the rest of the test bed.In addition,simultaneously the author finished and improved the hardware part of the test and control system,and developed the software part design of the control system based on LabVIEW.The mechanical part of the synchronizer unit test bed adopts the AC motor to simulate the engine,and the motor speed is controlled by the adjustment voltage of the inverter;the gearshift actuator adopts the servo motor driver's mode to achieve the selection and shifting;the control system mainly builds the synchronizer test bench,and designs the system login procedures,personnel management procedures,tests of the main program,and data acquisition procedures and so on with Lab VIEW virtual instrument test program.Finally,we did a large number of synchronous tests for the performance of synchronizer,made the corresponding test data,and did the analysis of test result.Furthermore,we completed the initial evaluation for the synchronizer according to two aspects — synchronization process and synchronization performance.After the test,the performance of the test bench is stable,and the expected target is achieved.
