Reactive power optimization of distribution system can effectively reduce network losses, improve the quality of voltage, and make the system security, economic and high-quality operation. Reactive power optimization of the distribution network minimums the loss of power and the investment of the reactive compensation devices by resource optimal allocation.Power flow method is the base of reactive power optimization, whose convergence and computation speed is very important to the efficiency of optimization. In this paper, the traditional Gauss Seidel method and Newton method for distribution network are adopted, and an improved forward and backward substitution method is given as follows:(1)Improving the numbered method of branches and nodes;(2)First search of breadth form hierarchy to realizing the course of power and voltage caculating synchronously. The calculation of reactive incremental loss is the base of Classical method. In this paper, the methods of admittance matrix in polar forms and transposed Jacobian Matrix Method are derived, and the form of polar coordinate is given examples. Reactive power optimization of distribution network has been established in this paper, considering the economic and safety voltage by the margin of the biggest, taken the largest margin of the voltage and the minimum network loss as the objective function. The network distribution network simplified method has been Innovatively introduced. Meanwhile, after checking we know the simplified method can be used, and to make the next step of reactive power optimization. At the end of the thesis, the classical method are applied to the IEEE-6,IEEE-14, IEEE-30bus system and real distribution network system, and some of the optimization results are presented. The results demonstrate that classical algorithm for reactive power optimization is feasible and holds certain advantages in the calculation of time.
