The research of spatial data model is one of the hot topics of geographic information system. The performance of the application system which was constructed on the spatial data model was influenced directly by spatial data model. The abstraction, description and modeling of vector spatial data are also the research priorities of spatial data model.Taking grid of Daqing oilfield power group as research object, this thesis proposes a simplified grid vector data model for calculating power loss through analyzing merit and demerit of the existed grid data model, using object-oriented technology and object oriented model method and referencing CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing). The model ignores the equipment and circuit which has no effect on calculation results while concentrates on35KV,110KV and220KV electric systems. This model effectively avoids defects brought by complex models, such as design difficulties and large errors. This thesis chooses geodatabase as spatial data storage platform, then designs physical storage structure through combining UML tool, and finally realizes physical storage of simplified grid vector data model. Aiming at the problems of frequent data updating and high requirement for real-time data, this thesis proposes a map cache strategy after researching map cache mechanism of ArcGIS which directly updates the tiling in cache directory. At last, the vector data model has been applied in practical scientific research project and obtained good effect.Combined with the calculation guideline of national grid power loss, this thesis designs and realizes a power loss calculation management system which was based on Arc GIS Server platform through the above research. And this system shows the grid power loss on web map directly.
