Calla lily (Zantedeschia hybrida) with bright colors, flowers swaying posture, unique pattern, gradually potential replaces the "king of flower bulbs" of Lily, which is recognized as the 21st century "color lily ".At present, China has less studies about calla lily cultivation, tuber development and physiological. The breeding of domestic species of the tuber is still in an initial stage. What's more, calla lily is suffering a "bottleneck" about the tuber breeding.Therefore, it is urgent need to study the growth of calla lily and reproduction of tuber. It is order to provide the theoretical and practical basis for cultivation, reproduction and chemical control cultivation.In this experiment, the two varieties Zantedeschia 'Florex Gold' and 'Dominique' were studied, not only for the development of plant growth, photo synthetic physiological characteristics, tuber enlargement development mechanism; but also for the different kinds of tuber size, different media, and salicylic acid treatments on the reproduction of tuber. The main results were as follows:(1)Through an entire growing season of calla lily observation, the aboveground could be divided into seedling, leaf expansion, budding, flowering, semi-dry season and the whole dry season; the underground tuber could be divided into weight loss part of the consumption period, compensation period, nutrient accumulation and rapid enlargement of the period.(2)In July and August, there was "midday depression" phenomenon, net photosynthetic rate of the daily change of the "up-down-up-down", two peaks at 10:00 and 16:00. The main reason was caused by the stomatal limitation.(3) In the tuber development period, the physiological metabolism of nutrients was more complex. In addition, there was a physiological phenomenon of character degradating about the tuber development. (4) The tuber diameter of 2-3cm could be as the high-quality provenance for commodity production cut tuber.(5)'Dominique' was better to adopt the garden soil of Xichang,'Florex Gold' varieties adaptation was weak. 'Dominique' could select substrate II (turves:perlite:garden soil=5: 2:3) in the win-win effection.(6) Salicylic acid had a certain role in promoting rejuvenation about the reproduction of tuber.'Florex Gold' was the best in 0.5 g/L spraying, 'Dominique' was the best in 0.3 g/L spraying, In addition, salicylic acid could effectively reduce the susceptibility rate of calla lily.
