Rotating ring die pellet mill is the key device of producing pellet,At present, the pelletingmechanism study of the rotating ring die pellet mill is few in China. There are still many defects, such as irrational structure, low productivity, high energy consumption. In this paper, studyingthe pelleting mechanism of the rotating ring die wood-pellet mill and designing of thewood-pellet mill to promote the development of wood-pellet industry has an importanttheoretical significance and practical value. The major jobs are as follows:1. Studying the pelleting mechanism of the rotating ring die wood-pellet mill, and analyzingthe factors of the pelleting. Three important factors are chosen to make an orthogonal tests, byapplication of intuitive analysis and variance analysis, the relationship between primary andsecondary of these factors are gained, also the optimum process parameters are gained, thesecould be a fundament for further study.2. Analyzing the pelleting mechanism and characteristic of existing pellet mill, the design ofnew architectures are purposed based on its characteristic. Analyzed the forces on the rawmaterial between the rotating ring die and the roller, calculated the best value thickness of the rawmaterial. According to theory and experience, calculate main parameters of the Rotating RingDie Wood-pellet Mill.3. Use UG NX characteristic parameters modeling technology to design the rotating ring diewood-pellet mill and assemble it.4. The mechanical analysis models of the rotating ring die and the simplified model of theconical inlets to the channel is studied, these could be a fundament for Finite Element Simulationanalysis.5. Finite Element Simulation static mechanical analyses about the key device of producingpellet are worked out by ANSYS Workbench. The simplified model of the conical inlets to thechannel is studied. The finite element analysis results of the conical showed that the bigger theconical inlets to the channel, the easier the raw material will be forced outward through thechannels, and the service life of the die could be extended.
