PHyllostachys heterocycla cv. Tubaeformis S.Y.Wang also known as bamboo-shaped,gourd bamboo,Which is generated a variable type due to Mao bamboo long-term systematicevolution,GeograpHical isolation and differentiation with production and management. Inorder to enlarge its development basic, provide scientific evidence for bamboo's breeding,cultivation, development and utilization, bamboo from Yiyang were selected to analyze theirdifferent character from biology and pHysiology angle.1,Through the survey in its structure and comparison with ordinary bamboo. the mostprominent feature of PHyllostachys heterocycla cv. Tubaeformis S.Y.Wang is the Ingot-likeprocesses between the internodes,which makes it Ornamental Value2,PHyllostachys heterocycla cv. Tubaeformis S.Y.Wang characteristic research wascarryed out by measurement of Diurnal changes in PHotosynthetic rate,Pn. ChloropHyllcontents, free amino acid contents and nitric acid reducing agent activity. Results Indicatedthat pHotosynthetic rate of bamboo's leaf appears two peak curve and it alsolooks as noonbreak. With the seasonal variation,ChloropHyll contents,free amino acid contents,nitric acidreducing agent activity and free amino acid contents apear single peak curve.They achieve thepeak in August and every pHysiological indicators are positively correlated for some degree.3,Because of Rarity and Ornamental Value, PHyllostachys heterocycla cv. TubaeformisS.Y.Wang has a Extremely high value and broad application in Landscape Application.It'sworth Vigorously developing and expanding.
