Background:Gestational diabetes mellitus means any degree of impaired glucose tolerance which occurs or first discovered during pregnancy. Pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus have higher incicdence of cardiovascular disease, hypertension than normal pregnant women, and is long-term risk population of type 2 diabetes; what'more, the babies of these women are pron to suffer huge children, congenital malformations, neonatal hyperinsulinemia and neonatal respiratory distress syndrome and other complications, the prognosis of children and mothers are seriously impacted. The pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus is not clear, some researches have shown that the absolute or relative deficiency of insulin caused by insulin resistance may be involved in the formation of gestational diabetes mellitus. But there is little report about the absolute level of insulin during pregnancy. Therefore, this study measured changes of normal and gestational diabetes mellitus pregnant women's insulin level in OGTT.in order to understand difference between the two and its significance Objective:To evaluate the changes and significances of insulin when pregnancy women with gestational diabetes (Gestational diabetes mellitus, GDM) do the glucose tolerance test (Glucose tolerance test, OGTT).Methods:1. Choose 55 GDM cases for the experimental group, while 50 cases of normal pregnant women with the corresponding gestational age were randomly selected as control group. Retrospective pre-pregnancy body mass index, measured the fasting blood glucose, insulin, TG and TC levels, and insulin levels 1,2,3 hours after serving of sugar for both experimental group and the control group who are undergoing OGTT.2. For statistical annlyses,Student's t-test,chi-square test.Mann-Whitney U test and Fish's exact test were used for statistical analysis, which was performed using SPSS statistical software.A P-value<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:1. Fasting blood lipid levels between normal and GDM group were no significant difference (P>0.05).2. Insulin resistance index, insulin levels 1 hour and 2 hours after serving sugar in the GDM group were significantly higher than normal (P<0.05).3. The level of TG and TC in the GDM group were significantly higher than normal (P<0.05).4. There were positively correlated between HOMA-IR and serum triglycerides (Triglyceride, TG), total cholesterol (Total cholesterol. TC) levels in GDM group (r=0.67;0.78.P<0.05).Conclusions:There is more obvious insulin resistance in GDM pregnant women than normal pregnant women, while the HOMA-IR and plasma TG, TC levels were positively correlated. Reducing insulin resistance and blood fat during pregnancy may block the interaction between the two, it is important to control the gestational diabetes, improving the prognosis of both mather and child.
