Study On Formulating Rules Of Prescriptions For Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea refeis to that woman gets lower abdominal pain or lumbosacral pain when menstrual period or before and after it, sometimes even syncope because of pain. Western obstetrics and gynecology divides it into two categories, primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. Chinese Gynecology does not divide it, just call it dysmennorrhea.This research collects 712 formulas about dysmenorrheal,149 formulas from ancient documents and 563 fomulas from modern documents. These formulas are used as research objects. Drug names, drug classes and syndromes are normalized. And then these fomulas are established the basic data table. Use Excel SPSS and Matlab to analyze and calculate these datas, in order to find out the trend of dysmenorrhea syndromes and drugs by philology, and analyze the rules of important dysmenorrheal syndromes. Results mainly as fellows:The top five syndromes are qi stagnation and blood stasis, cold stagnation and blood stasis, cold stagnation accompanied with qi stagnation and blood stasis, qi stagnation and blood stasis accompanied with asthenia of qi and blood, blood deficiency and blood stasis accompanied with qi stagnation. Blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicinal, tonifying and replenishing medicinal, qi-regulating medicinal, interior-warming medicinal, heat-clearing medicinal, exterior-releasing medicinal and dampness-draining diuretic medicinal, these eight classes are used more often. Core drugs used to treat dysmennorrhea are danggui, yanhusuo, chuanxiong, xiangfu, gancao, baishao, wulingzhi, chishao, puhuang, danshen, honghua, taoren, yimucao, ezhu and moyao. The top ten combined drugs include different compabilities of above individual drugs. In general, repletion syndrome is far more than vacuity syndrome.
