This article is made of three parts:theoretical discussion, clinical observation and animal experimental study. It makes a systematic and in-depth research on the treatment of expelling wind and eliminating stagnation for asthma attack with wind-phlegm coexisting in lung syndrome type.In the theoretical discussion part,the asthmatic etiology and pathogenesis and medication treatment at this stage of both modern medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) are discussed. For present worse situation of asthma, we regard the pathogenesis of wind-phlegm coexisting as the main syndrome type of asthma,and recommended the therapeutic method of eliminating wind and removing phlegm to open up the lung.In the clinical research part, the clinical effects of this treatment are observed through the study on 42 patients in mild, moderate acute phase of wind-phlegm coexisting in lung syndrome type.Those patients were randomly divided into the treatment group (Qufengxuanbi-formula) and the control group (Pulmicort). The comprehensive clinical effects,lung ventilation function were observed, and the results show that the comprehensive therapeutic effect of the treatment group was correspond to that of the control group;in the treatment group,after trearment the pulmonary function was significantly improved. The clinical research proves that Qufengxuanbi-formula is effective complex prescription for asthma, which deserves further study.In the animal experiment part,cell signal pathways are discussed as the function mechanism of Qufengxuanbi-formula in asthma. The guinea pigs were established as the asthma models with ovalbumin(OVA), with hexadecadrol as the treatment drug of the control group.The animals were treated for 10 days, after then,the inflammatory cells infiltrating situation of lung histopathology and the alveolar lavage fluid inflammatory cells counting were measured;and the immunohistochemistry methods were used to detect the content of STAT6 phosphorylated proteins, NF p65 protein and p38 MAPK phosphorylated protein.the results show that:One way of the function mechanism of Qufengxuanbi-formula in asthma is to intervent those three signal pathways.
