Background:In recent years, the overseas studies have reported that the rising of tHcy in advanced lung cancer is closely related to lung cancer, and regarded that it may be a marker of great value in monitoring tumor activity. However, since the related literature reported in China is limited, the research reports on advanced NSCLC are much less, and the connection between them needs to be further studied and proved.Aims:This dessertion aims to explore and verify the rising of tHcy in advanced NSCLC, and combined detection of serum CEA, CYFRA21-1, the values of which are respectively evaluated in the monitoring the effectiveness of squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma chemotherapy and the activity of tumour.Methods:1. The way of prospective controlled study will be employed to group the qualified patients in our hospital from August 2009 to August 2010. Group A includes 60 patients with advanced NSCLC, Group B with 30 patients of benignant lung diseases, and Group C with 40 healthy adults.2. Fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA) is used to measure tHcy of the three groups and to analyze the differences of tHcy among them.3. Group A is pathologically classified to analyze the changes of tHcy in the process of effective control or progress of chemotherapy, and its recurrence after effective control, and at the same time, to detect CEA,CYFRA21-1 in serum and compare them.Result:1. The tHcy in Group A,Group B and Group C are respectively 15.38±0.59μmol·L-1,10.42±0.67μmol·L-1, and 9.95±0.52μmol·L-1. Group A is higher than Groups B and C, and the difference is of great statistical significance (P<0.05). But Group B is higher than Group C, the difference is of no statistical significance (P>0.05).2. For squamous cell carcinoma, tHcy, CEA, and CYFRA21-1 all decrease after the effective control of chemotherapy, but increase in the progress of chemotherapy and in the recurrence. However, only the differences of tHcy, CYFRA21-1 in the three cases are statistically significant(P<0.05), while that of CEA is statistically insignificant(P>0.05). For adenocarcinoma, tHcy and CEA decline in the effective control, but rise in the progression and recurrence, and the differences of the two markers in the three cases are statistically significant (P<0.05), whereas CYFRA21-1 rises in all the three cases, but the difference is statistically insignificant (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. tHcy is rising in advanced lung squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, so it can be regarded as a marker of tumors.2. In this study, for both squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, tHcy is absolutely valuable in evaluating the effect of chemotherapy in advanced NSCLC and tumor activity.
