| ObjectiveTo evaluate the effects of 14 membered macrolide antibiotics on the turnover of inflammation of nasal mucosa after the functional endoscopic sinus surgery. And looking after an auxiliary agent to replace or reduce the amount of corticosteroid after the functional endoscopic sinus surgery.MethodsSixty cases with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps were selected. The patients were randomly divided into two groups after functional endoscopic sinus surgery.Cases of the roxithromycin group(14-membered ring macrolide antibiotics) treated generally plus oral roxithromycin,150mg/1time/day for 3months.Those of the control group treated generally plus acetyl spiramycin(16-membered ring macrolide antibiotics),200mg/3times/day for 3months.Cases of the two groups were assessed respectively according to the symptoms and scores of life quality and the surfacal characteristics of mucosa of the surgical cavity. The nasal specimens were collected during and after the surgery and the IL-4 content were detected by double antibody sandwich ABC-ELISA. Informations and datas were analyzed statistically and discussedResultsCure rate of the treatment group was 92.86%,that of the control group was 72.41%.The difference was statistically significant. The cleaning time of surgical cavity in treatment group was (2.1±0.24) weeks on average, the control group was (2.4±0.21) weeks. The weekly percentage of cases in two groups with completely cleaning surgical cavity within 4 weeks had significant difference. But the complete epithelization time of the surgical cavity in two groups was statistically significant difference. Scores of visual analongue scale after treatment in two groups were (5.72±5.36)and(8.76±6.16),They have a significant difference.Scores of SNOT-20 after treatment in two groups were (11.06+7.73)and(16.13+7.63).Scores in the five points of two groups were(5.37+2.92)and(7.12+3.01).They were statistically significant. The IL-4 levels of nasal mucosa in two groups after treatment were ( 62.56±22.16ng/ml)and(89.01±27.43ng/ml).They were significant differencesConclusionOral roxithromycin can be used as adjuvant therapy after the functional endoscopic sinus surgery because it has a significantly anti-inflammatory effect and little side effect and can be used long-term and low-dose. |
