Studies On The Chemical Constituents Of Steptocfaulon Griffithii

Streptocaulon griffithii Hook, one of the Traditional Chinese Medicines(TCM) from ethnic Dai, woody climbing plant, is classified in family Asclepiadaceae, category Streptocaulon. It also named Lao Yazui, Nan kuseng, Hong Malianan, Ku Yangteng, Teng Kuseng etc. The plant was mainly distributed in places such as Guangzhou, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou in China. Streptocaulon griffitrii Hook can clear heat and detoxification, eliminate stasis to activate blood circulation and relieve pain and so on, so it is usually used for treating dysentery, muggy, diarrhea, stomach, colds and fevers, chronic nephritis, traumatic injury, gall, venomous snake bite and tumor. There is little research about it, It is mainly concentrated in chemical composition and identification. its chemical contents is also little in the area. This research aims to systematic study chemical components of S.Hook and lay theoretical foundation for protection, open and utilization of the Chinese herbal chemistry.In this study, 30 chemical compositions were separated from the ethanol extraction of S.Hook with several separating materials and technologies such as CC, RP-18, Sephadex LH-20, MCI-gel CHP 20P and HPLC. Then the compounds were analysed by modern spectra process analytical technologies such as MS, UV, IR, NMR. Structures of 24 compounds were identified, which contained 17 triperpenoids, Their name are (1)3β,7β,12β-trihydroxy-4,4, 14α-trimethyl-11,15-dioxo-5α-chol-8-en-24-oic acid, (2)Methyl lucidenate P, (3)Methyl lucidenate K, (4)Griffithii X, (5)Dammar-20,24-dien-3β-ol, (10)ursolic acid, (11) 23- hydroxyursolic acid, (12)Arjunolic acid, (13)3β,6β,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid, (14)3β,6α,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid, (15)2α,3β,23-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid, (16)23-hydroxyerythrodiol, (17)belleric acid. 4 steroids,Their name are (6) (24S) -24 -ethylcholesta-3β,5α,6β-triol, (7)daucosterol, (8)7α-hydroxy sitosterol-3-O-β-glucoside, (9)β-stiosterol. 2 cardiac glycosides, Their name are (18) periplogenin, (19) 3α-periplogenin. 5 benzene series and related organic groups etc, Their name are (20) 3,5-Dimethoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, (21) Vanillin, (22) ferulic acid, (23) 4-hydroxy-3, 5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde, (24) ar-turmerone. And compound 4 is a new compound. 17 first isolated compounds which are compound1-3,5-6,8,11-14,16-17,19-21,23,24.and 6 known compounds which are compound 7,9,10,15,18,22.
