Objective: To investigate the expression of Ezrin and RhoA proteins in gastric carcinoma tissue in different clinical stages, and anlyzing their functions and relationships in the gastric carcinoma and develepment mechanism. The purpose were to study their roles in invasion and metastasis and to provide the new theoretical foundation. Methods : The expressions of RhoA and Ezrin in 57 specimens of gastric carcinoma , 23 specimens of epithelial dysplasia and 25 specimens of normal gastric tissues were detected by immunohisto chemistry. Results:①The positive expression rates of Ezrin in normal gastric tissues, gastric epithelial dysplasia and gastric carcinoma were8.7%,55.6%and86% and those were8.7%,51.9%and70.2% respetively.②The expression of Ezrin and RhoA were correlated to clinical stage, lymph node metastasisand differentiation(P<0.01)③The expression of Ezrin was positively correlated to that of Moesin in gastric carcinoma(P<0.01).Conclusions: High expression of Ezrin and RhoA correlated with the clinical stage and lymph node metastasis in gastric carcinoma, combined both detection might be important marker for forecasting metastasis and prognosis in gastric carcinoma examining Ezrin and RhoA. Ezrin and RhoA protein expression had a significant correlation and made a further proof that the two proteins in structure, function andgenetic expression had a close connection.
