All forms of high vocational college at all levels have cultivated a host of the first line backbone of production and service for society since reform and opening. How to improve quality of undergraduates is a strategic mission related to improvement quality of the whole nation. Music education is a important approach of improvement music quality and humane quality for youngsters. it's a task for us to think how to reform the university public music meeting the need of society, music education not the musician cultivation, the focus is human cultivation. With the development of career education, music public course has made some improvement, but there are still some problems. We research the current situation of public music education of high vocational college with questionnaire survey and interview, we can find some problems on the base of the statistical data: the base of music knowledge of the student is poor; cognition of public music education of decision-maker is superficial; don't realize the potential impact of music education on specialty; deviation of educational concept; shortage of teaching establishment; predicament of enrolment and vocation, etc. We adopt historical documents method, comparative method and case-study method, researching and analyzing the root of the problems, combining the intendancy of society and requirement for talents, then put forward some exploratory reform suggestions: the application of researching-teaching model in music education; change the course form; emphasized on developing student's subjectivity; emphasized on art practice., etc. it proved that the application of all these methods in music education can stimulate the students'interest of study, it can improve the students'music quality and integration capability. Because it's impossible to solve all the problems with one reform policy, the author hope that there will be more and more researchers participating the music public education research and discussion, so the students'integration capability and the high vocational college music can make further improvement. This paper consists of four parts: in the first part, the author investigates the base condition of high vocational college music education; in the second part, the author discusses the current situation and analyzes the root of the problem; in the third part, the author tries to find the solving method and policy according to the reason; in the fourth part, by case analysis, the author tests the adopted method by teaching practice.
