Research On The Grammar Of "Collection Of Bizarre Stories"

The"collection of bizarre stories"is a more influential legendry in the middle and late Tang dynasty. The development of Chinese is at the period of the old and new transition. Although, in the"collection of bizarre stories", the whole was written with the classical language, but, as a legendary album, the form was more free and the material is more lively, than the eight famous writers of Tang and Song dynasty who advocated classical language and article. This legendry with oral color can reflect the characteristics of the language of that era.This paper will describe the language of the"collection of bizarre stories"from two aspects of morphology and syntax, in order to summarize the characteristics of the new and special phenomenon of language in this period, and tap some new factors, as a glimpse of the Evolution of Grammar in the middle and late Tang Dynasty .Of course, the tree does not make a forest, after all, a book has its limitations, but also needs other works in the same period, such as "Dunhuang Bianwen," "Chinese novel" so as to avoid one-sided speech.The legendry reflects the development of the new syntax in the following areas: (1) prepositions:①the old prepositions ("Yu", "Yin", "Zi", "Yong") appear the emergence of new meaning and new usage ;②new prepositions "He" appearance. (2) the three syntax elements: the syntax elements as attribute, adverbial or complement is more rich and flexible. (3) five patterns:①judge sentence, copula "is" has been widely used, and there have been many flexible usage;②delivery sentence, the scope of verb which connect the concurrent phrase extended widely, and the concurrent phrase can be omitted, and this kind of verb can be connected together.③the structure of verb+complement, in the legendry the"verb+to"structure appeared, in this period the combination of verb+complement was not enough close.④treatment model, in the legendry, some Disposal verbs have object, out of bare verbs.⑤passive, in addition to still follow the ancient "to" words, the "bei" was used more frequently, and can be inserted the words of"wei"in general, gradually replaced in spoken language. Besides, the combination of passive and verb+complement appeared.These grammatical phenomena will be discussed in the text, strive to show the language style of the"collection of bizarre stories". Hope that through the writing of this paper, more people can understand the"collection of bizarre stories ", also tap the process of grammar development in the Tang Dynasty, and make contribution to the history of Chinese language studies, in order to determine its linguistic value..
