MTCSOL (Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) is established with the intent of reforming and improving the talent training system in the teaching of Chinese as a second language, meeting the needs of the new situation that Chinese is generalized internationally and cultivating high-level, application-oriented and interdisciplinary talents who are specialized in the international generalization of Chinese at home and abroad. MTCSOL cultivating schemes point out clearly that the courses should be oriented to practical application and stress on practical training. In the teaching of MTCSOL postgraduates, comparing with the traditional teaching methods, case teaching can achieve better teaching effect and cultivate the high-quality talents that can meet the requirements of the international generalization of Chinese. Currently, case teaching has been applied to law science and business administration science etc. disciplines and achieves ideal effects. With reference to the research findings in respect of case teaching in the above disciplines, this paper makes a discussion on Case Teaching to the Teaching of MTCSOL Postgraduates. This paper falls into five parts:In the first part, firstly, with reference to the research findings in respect of case teaching in law science and business administration science, the meaning of case teaching in the teaching of MTCSOL postgraduates is clarified; secondly, case teaching and traditional teaching are compared to highlight the characteristics of the case teaching; thirdly, with reference to the forms of class organization of case teaching in law science, in combination with MTCSOL class practice, the categories of the case teaching in the teaching of MTCSOL postgraduates are summarized; finally, on the basis of the natures and characteristics of case teaching discussed in the proceeding part of the text, the superior functions of the case teaching are concluded.In the second part, proceeding from the preparation of cases before class, organization of teaching in class and feedback after class, the specific links that the case teaching is applied to the teaching of MTCSOL postgraduates are put forward. Firstly, true, typical, targeted, profound and original cases should be prepared before class; secondly, during the organization of teaching, teachers should transform their roles into directors, guiding the progress of the class properly and activating the students'interests in discussion; finally, the feedback and evaluation of the learning conditions of the students and the courses should be made timely. In the third part, the characteristic of the three elements (teachers, students and teaching materials) of class teaching in case teaching are analyzed respectively, and the details that the attention should be paid to in case teaching are put forward, so as to deepen the understanding of case teaching and improve the feasibility of case teaching.In the fourth part, two typical cases including elementary integrated course and elementary spoken Chinese are displayed. On the basis of the teaching of Chinese as a second language, second language acquisition, cross-cultural intercourse etc. theories, in combination of the teaching experience accumulated at ordinary times, the strong points and weak points of cases are analyzed in details.In the conclusion part, the researches in this paper are summarized, and the creative points, the research limit and the future research directions are brought forward.
