The copper industry in Yunnan area unprecedented development in the Qing Dynasty. It has reached a unprecedented high level. Along with the development of copper industry, The Barren mountains difficulty has been increasing. Eventually lead to the flourishing copper decline. This paper based on the history of economic combination the history of Mining, examines the influence that Yunnan area copper mining face to the charcoal transportation route gradually far away from Qianlong to Jiaqing period in the Qing Dynasty, further analysis the reason of Yunnan copper mine industrial decline. The introduction parts of this paper mainly introduces the meaning of this topic, research status, and the main contents of this research. The first chapter first to make a brief summary of the history of copper industrial before the Qing Dynasty. Then make a general introduction of the development process of Yunnan copper industrial in the Qing Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, the development of Yunnan copper mining whether the production, or the influence of the national economy was the past generations cannot be compared. It has experienced from development to prospered, then to decline altogether three main process. The second chapter first to research Barren mountains problems arose from Qianlong to Jiaqing period in the Qing Dynasty. And other problems to put forward which is closely related to the Barren mountains problems. These problems are mainly include smelting copper request for charcoal, the charcoal price, the silver and copper exchange rate rise, and the charcoal transportation problems. Then I found the impact of Barren mountains to the copper factory workers was very great. The third chapter take the Tangdan copper factory which in Dongchuan district as the example, further elucidation the Barren mountain problems was very serious. The article first to make estimates of the copper production in Tangdan copper factory. And then further estimate the damaged forest areas of Tangdan copper factory from the fourth year of Yongzheng to the last year of Jiaqing in nearly 100 years. Finally estimate how far the charcoal transportation distance of Tangdan copper factory. meanwhile, estimate the copper factory workers' income which removed the charcoal cost. The conclusion is that from the fourth year of Yongzheng to the last year of Jiaqing the copper factory workers' income at first was rising and then decreased. Eventually mining unprofitable, The fourth chapter basically study the reason of the decline of Yunnan copper. The article first introduce the research results about the causes for the decline of Yunnan copper, then concludes the previous viewpoint about the reason of the decline of Yunnan copper industrial. Through the research, I found the Barren mountains was the root cause of Yunnan copper industrial decline. The conclusion of the paper part summarizes the main content of Barren mountains problems and the copper industrial decline from qianlong to Jiaqing period in the Qing Dynasty. In addition, also discuss the Feasibility analysis of smelting copper energy alternative problems. In other words, if we could used coal instead of charcoal as smelting copper energy.
