Compilation And Research Of Huai River's Sacrifice Material

Huai river originates from Tongbai mountain of Henan province,which is through the Hongze lake in the west of Jiangsu provinnce down to Changjiang river and out to sea. It is one of the four ancient rivers in China. The sacrifice of Huai river is of national sacrifices. In the whole system of national sacrifices it is the intermediate sacrifice. Although the sacrifice of Huai is of national sacrifices, the sacrificing places were in county and state, which is the important juncture of national concept and regional society and a good point to study state and local society. The paper is based on the previous compiled sacrificing material of Huai river as the core and the predecessor's research achievement, and from the angles such as history, sociology, statistics to study the sacrifice of Huai river, in order to deepen the knowledge of the national sacrifice, hoping it will help the historions.This paper consists of three parts.The first part is" Huai water", pooling Huai water material, simply introduced Huai river and the basic situation of its origination.The second part is "successive sacrifice of Huai material". It is the core of this paper. On the basis of the systematically retrieval official history, corpus, Local chorography , inscriptions, etc,the compilation of successive material of Huai sacrifice is finished. It is divided into the pre-Qin, Qin Han, Wei Jin south and north dynasty, Sui Tang and five dynasties, Liao, Song, Xia ,Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing nine parts.The third part is to probe the succesive sacrifice of Huai river. The writer statistically analyzed the reason and space-time of Huai river sacrifice. It is to pray for good weather and prosperous country and peaceful people. Specifically speaking, every sacrifice involves praying for rain and snow, sun, the change of the title of region, ascending the throne, going out to battles, triumph and members of the royal family birth and death, etc. Of the united dynasties ,Yuan has the most times of Huai sacrifice , to 52 times or more. The second is Ming and Qing, 47 times . And the next is Tang ,42 times .The last is Song, 38 times . Then, from two aspects analyzes the characteristics of huai river sacrifice: one is personified in huai blaspheme god; then, it is in the process of development, experienced from shrines to Confucianism, again to the tao household, then return to the process of Confucianism. Finally, summarizes the huai situation in offering.
