Comprative Research On Language Differences Between Xin Wen Lian Bo And The Government Work Report

Style is a kind of language functional variation which birth to meet the needs of communications during the social activities, Xin Wen Lian Bo and The Government Work Report serve for different communications, and formate their own style characters according to the different occasions, communicative persons and so on.In the essay, we establish corpus based on 65000 word-test from Xin Wen Lian Bo and The Government Work Report, mainly studing their differences on vocabulary-selection, sentence-use, and rhetorical distributions. According to this, we also attempt to analyse the root causes to the differences deeply.Refer to the vocabulary, we divide them into two parts: notional words and function words. We analyse the characters of word-selection of notional words in Xin Wen Lian Bo and The Government Work Report by studing them form two aspects: one is the frequency of using nouns, verbs, adj, adv, prom, and distinguishing Words; the other is the similiarity of using numeral, four-word phrases and idioms. Studing function words is mainly by discussing the difference in choosing and using the prep, corj, and aux.The studies of sentence application is from four aspects: sentence category, pattern, type and parenthesis. Studies on sentence category through the statistics of use frequency and its functional characters. Studies on pattern not only describe the similarity of the two styles entire use, but also try the best to find their respective characters of simple-complex sentence; Studies on sentence type are from the options of long-short sentence and complete-loose sentence; Studies on the difference of use parenthes show the distinctive feature of the two styles.Refer to rhetoric, we need to analyse the choose of rhetoric in Xin Wen Lian Bo and The Government Work Report combining the different distributions with pragmatic functions.This paper believes that the obvious differences of the two styles in vocabulary, sentence and rhetoric are determined by different communicative functions. Xin Wen Lian Bo gets the characteristics of spoken language with universality and popularity, The Government Work Report gets a high degree of written language with solemnity and seriousness.
